Title: Reducing Risk in K-12 Schools After Hours

Mitigating risks during the normal school day is a big enough challenge for school security professionals. But after the last bell rings--in the afternoons, evenings, on weekends and at off-campus school-sanctioned activities--the risks are even greater. This increase in vulnerability could be caused by many factors, including the inability to adapt security plans and untrained personnel. Where to begin? Join in exercises that navigate through different scenarios to identify risks, determine mitigation strategies, and apply national best practices. The results lay a foundation for building a school's event security plan and an emergency operations plan, which ultimately result in safer schools.
