Title: Secure and Safe Cities: Emerging Technologies and the Law

Description:

The explosion in technology used to support secure and safe cities has not been embraced by all those affected. Some developments such as artificial intelligence, advanced sensor platforms, and data analytics have ignited substantial public concern and generated mixed reaction from courts and legislatures. In addition to concern about the actual sensors, there is a growing concern about the use and potential misuse of the data they collect. In reality, the reaction of courts and legislatures can have a substantial affect on technology programs. In some cases, technologies adopted and used by cities or enterprises may eventually be prohibited. Join industry and legal experts to examine recent technology developments and some of the legal and legislative approaches used to manage that technology.
